Madhya Pradesh, also known as the “heart of India” due to its geographical located is a state in central India. The capital city of the state is Bhopal which is also the largest city in Madhya Pradesh. The state of Madhya Pradesh is rich in mineral resources, and has the largest reserves of diamond and copper in India. The tourism industry of Madhya Pradesh has seen considerable growth in recent years, with the state topping the National Tourism Awards in 2010-11.
We will discuss some of the famous universities in Madhya Pradesh in this section.
Madhya Pradesh has two central universities, sixteen state universities, three deemed universities, one private university and two institutes of national importance including an IIT, and an NIT. The state also has an IIM and an IISER.
Eleven state universities of Madhya Pradesh receive financial assistance from central government and UGC in addition to Madhya Pradesh state government. There are 500 degree colleges in the state, which are affiliated with one of the universities in the state.
Some of the famous universities in the state include Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University, Madhya Pradesh Veterinary Sciences University, Madhya Pradesh Medical University, Rajiv Gandhi Technical University, Barkatullah University, Devi Ahilya Vishvavidyalay, Rani Durgavati University, Vikram University.
There are also some premier educational and research institutions of India in MP including IIM Indore, IIT Indore, IIITDM Jabalpur and IIITM Gwalior, SPA Bhopal, IIFM (Bhopal), National Law Institute University (Bhopal), Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology.
