Description: General Bipin Rawat, is an alumnus of St. Edward School, Shimla, and the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla. In December 1978, from IMA, Dehradun, he was commissioned to the Fifth Bn, the Eleventh Gorkha Rifles of the Indian Army. He was awarded the ‘Sword of Honour’. General Bipin Rawat had enormous experience in operations across a wide spectrum of conflict and terrain profiles. He controlled an Infantry battalion, along the Line of Actual Control in the Eastern Sector; a Rashtriya Rifles Sector; an Infantry Division in the Kashmir Valley; and, a Corps in the North East. The officer also commanded a Multinational Brigade, in a Chapter VII mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUC). As an Army Cdr, General Bipin Rawat commanded a theatre of ops along the Western Front. The General officer, Mr. Bipin Rawat during the span of over 38 years service in uniform has been awarded for gallantry and distinguished service with the UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM; COAS Commendation and the Army Commander’s Commendation.

Description: On 31 May 16, Admiral Sunil Lanba had assumed the command of the 23rd Chief of the Naval Staff. In both the Eastern and Western Fleet, Admiral Lanba is a Navigation and Direction specialist who has served as the navigation and operations officer onboard numerous ships. His sea tenures include command of INS Kakinada, a specialised Mine Counter Measure Vessel, INS Himgiri, the indigenous Leander Class Frigate, INS Ranvijay, a Kashin Class Destroyer and INS Mumbai, the indigenous Delhi Class Destroyer. His nearly four decades of experience include tenures at sea, ashore at various Headquarters, operational and training establishments as well as tri-services institutions. He has also been the Executive Officer of the Aircraft Carrier, INS Viraat and the Fleet Operations Officer of the Western Fleet. It is the responsibility of the Admiral Sunil Lanba for transformation in training methodology for the future Indian Navy as the Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command. Admiral Sunil Lanba got Param Vishist Seva Medal and Ati Vishist Seva Medal for meritorious service, and is also the Honorary Aide-De-Camp to the President of India. He took over as the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee on 01 January 2017.

Description: Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa was commissioned in the IAF in June 1978 as a fighter pilot. He is an alumnus of Rashtriya Indian Military College, the National Defence Academy and the Defence, he took over as the Chief of the Air Staff on 01 January 2017. He led the IAF punch during the ‘Limited War’ against Pakistan to evict the enemy from their ‘dug in’ defences in the icy heights of Kargil region. The Air Chief Marshal has mainly flown the Kiran and MiG-21 aircraft with flying experience across the entire spectrum of fighter aircraft from the Jaguar to the state of the art MiG-29 & Su-30 MKi, with an immaculate record of flight safety throughout his distinguished career as a field commander. Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa was awarded Yudh Seva Medal (YSM) & Vayusena Medal (VM) in 1999 and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) in 2015 by the President of India. He was appointed Honorary ADC to the President of India on 01 Aug 15 and awarded Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM) in 2016 by the President of India.
